I was just listening to Wheeler Walker Jr. - "Eatin' Pussy/Kickin' Ass" (not sure how I stumbled across it) and while it's comedic I realised that it was actually quite good too (ok, so I like some country music getmecoat ). I was wondering what else is there out there that combines good music with comedy/parody?

The obvious other one is Steel Panther who are lewd, crude and very good. Any more for any more?

There is a cracking skiffle busking band from Manchester called ‘Asparagus and the Kilburn habit’ who I’ve seen a few times when they do proper gigs (Ludlow spring festival)
They dress in tweed, and sing covers with a unique twist on the lyrics.

The Monkees.

Not necessarily 100% joke /comedy but also not 100% serious either.

A fair few good tunes, good call.

Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy is a classic!

Plus they were TVR fans.

Hayseed Dixie, seen them a couple of times.

Keeping your poop in a jar is a touching song about an ex girlfriend, which I found myself humming for a few days afterwards.

Is what I was going to suggest.

The Lonely Island did a couple of very silly childish tunes, one with Justin Timberlale. I doubt it's what the OP had in mind though getmecoat

Alberto Y Los Trios Paranoias from back in the '70's were always entertaining. 'Proper' muso's...
