A-ha....well, the first two albums anyhow (Hunting High & Low, Scoundrel Days). Definitely a guilty pleasure. They had some great songs back then.

Oh, good call. Or bad call. Thing is, they got less "pop-py" as I got older and got into guitar stuff so that worked out quite well.

The early 60s stuff with Epstein managing and Martin producing.
Her vocal technique , range, diction and phrasing are quite unique, and she [ and Martin ] chose
the correct songs for her vocal style.

Much underrated.

Back when I were a youth one of the acts I bothered seeing more than once was Kid Creole and the Coconuts.

Sure lots of their songs were a bit naff, but the shows were just so much fun!

More recently, and with a similar vibe (man), I've greatly enjoyed Cara Emerald.

Nothing guilty pleasure about that - I saw it last year and it was fantastic! Wife didn't really know the songs and said it was OK...
