Also, it was bacterial meningitis that my grandfather died very quickly from....frown

Shocked about this. A brilliant guitarist.

Seen here with Jimmy Page, Keith Relf and Janet Street Porter on the dancefloor in Antonioni's Blow up (1966)

That’s another shocking passing to learn of unexpectedly. Simply a genius musician and always a mentor for up and coming performers across genres.

Very sad indeed frown

RIP Jeff, I saw you in once and it was amazing.

At the end of that show he invites EC to play. Allegedly Jimmy Page was in the audience too.

Such sad news.

Hadn’t realised he’d been married six times.

He was apparently a huge “car guy” too.

Just read it on the BBC News, one of those "aw fk, no" moments. I don't own nearly enough Jeff Beck albums I'm sorry to say.

I saw him once with the Yardbirds at Klooks Kleek, a tiny venue in West Hampstead;
but to be honest I don't remember too much detail about those days rotate.

I had the 'pleasure' of working with him at the BBC on 'The Five Faces Of The Guitar';
he was not too professional in that environment, but what a fabulous guitarist .....
...... he was a musician's guitarist.

He was a good with a spanner and welder in his hands as he was with a guitar.

The cover of "Beck's Guitar Shop" picks up on his love of working in his garage.

Was lucky enough to see him live a few years ago at the Roundhouse in Camden when he came on as a surprise guest at an Imelda May concert. Crowd went mad and he did a couple of songs with her, fantastic moment, they had great stage chemistry.

Another legend lost. RIP.

One of the 'Holy Trinity' - Beck, Clapton, Page.

Undoubtedly the greatest guitarist that ever lived.

RIP.

Sad news indeed. I remember about 25 years ago walking along Regent Street in the evening on our way to Veeraswamy for an expensive curry, when I passed a Ferrari (can’t remember the model) parked up at the roadside. The registration number was J8 ECK and I’ve always wondered if it was the great man himself - anybody know?

Jeff was good mates with her now-ex husband, Darryl Higham, who was the guitarist in her band at the time, and wrote a lot of the stuff. Most of 'her' band at the time was Darryl's band in reality. Darryl has done a lot of gigs with Jeff, when Jeff wanted to do his Gene Vincent stuff, as Gene's original guitarist, Cliff Gallop was Jeff's 'guitar hero'.
