Sorry to read about Andy's health problems, I knew him before he went to Leeds University around 1978, and ended up booking the acts, later to become a very respected radio DJ.

Had a few ups and down in his life, documented in his excellent autobiography.

I've chatted to him a few times in the paddock at motorbike race meetings. A nice, approachable bloke.
He did an excellent world music podcast which, not surprisingly, hasn't been on for a while.

I'd highly highly recommend his book 'NO OFF SWITCH'.

Superb read from start to finish.
The bits about Andy encountering Geldof bellowing expletives while ripping down the Clash posters, shows what an entitled dick Geldof was/is.
