Very sad to see this report; 73 is no age.

Her astonishingly pure voice will be sadly missed; like so many, I ‘discovered’ Clannad off the back of the Theme from Harry’s Game, and have always enjoyed a good dose of Gaeilge in my listening since.

Irish musician Moya Brennan dies aged 73 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crm112y4jyzo

Out of curiosity, how many on here first became aware of Theme from Harry’s Game from the actual TV series or from Chicane & Brennan’s sample/re-recording of it for Saltwater in 1999?

Harry's game for me. In fact I had to google the saltwater chicane thing and I think today is the first time I've ever heard it.

Neither for me. From Magical Ring - where it's the first track. RIP Maire Brennan with the unique and beautiful voice.

It was the series for me; on the back of that I bought Magical Ring on vinyl, recorded it and played the hell out of that album in a green Capri belonging to the GF at the time (I was on bikes then). Great memories and a great soundtrack.

I’ve got a CD version of the album too and, for some reason, that has some really OTT stereo phasing between channels on the very breathy harmonies. It’s always bugged me, the vinyl is not mixed like that and the music just does not need heavy handed ‘effects’… anyway, glad others appreciated her output; was quite prolific

It's sad to hear of her passing - I always remember the Robin Hood series and the Clannad theme tune.
