I've just got myself an ipod (about 7 years after everyone else!), mainly for running with and listening to in the gym.

The gym I go to will let you put on CD's but only with innofensive content. Seeing as my favourite tune to do bag work to is Prodigy's 'Smack my bitch up' it's a bit of a no go... hehe

I just wondered what tunes motivate others in the gym... Sometimes it's a bit of Afika Bambaata, or others it could be ACDC.

I'm going to try a bit of hard trance for my cardio sessions. Anyone got any good recommendations?

The first three on my gym playlist are:

1) Rolling Stones - Start Me Up
2) Pendulum - Slam
3) Black Label Society - Stillborn

It depends firstly on what your tastes are. Mine are really broad so my playlists tend to be very varied.

Secondly, however, ask yourself what kind of mood you want to be in. If I was running I'd probably want something quite light to listen to that I could concentrate on rather than the fact that I haven't yet made it to the end of my road! Conversely, when I'm in the gym I want something loud and heavy like Slayer or Helmet - something that would really wind me up and which I might ordinarily find oppressive.

Cheers,

Rammstein. Metallica. American Head Charge. The Bitter Image. Nickelback. Alice In Chains. These are what I train to.
