Question for you all, I am thinking of having another go at a bit of circuit racing after a few years of rallying as I fancy a change.

What would be the best series to enter my 1979 Mk 2 in ?
It has a 2.3 XE engine, and Sadev sequential G box, apart from that it is normal Gp 4 Escort rally spec.

Thanks in advance.

The engine and gearbox rule out several possibilities, but read through regs for Quaife Motorsport News Saloon Car Championship or Cannons TinTops Championship.

Otherwise the Northern Saloon and Sportscar Championship run by the DDMC would be ideal, except Winchester redefines the term Northern. Is there something similar that uses the southern circuits?

Darlington and District also come North to Knockhill once or twice a year, we always look forward to those meetings, great bunch of drivers and crews, thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

How about the Welsh Saloon Car Championship. www.wrda.co.uk fantastic low entry fees, very varied grids, usually qualify and races on the same day so doesn't need all weekend commitment and a great bunch.

CSCC Special Saloons & Modsports series too...

Caters for all kinds of Special Saloons, Modified Saloons, Thundersaloons, Modsports & GTs.

Many options.

You would fit in with the BARC South Eastern Centre Quaife Motorsport News Saloons, and as its biased towards southern circuits it should take out some of the travelling pain! I race in the sister Cannons TinTops Championship but you are too modifed for that.
