Any Car Alarm/Mobilizer Installers In The West Mid's?
Discussion
What do you plan to fit and what stage of build are you?
For IVA you will need an immobiliser. You can install this yourself and does not require a certificate.
If you want an alarm as well then it has to be professionally installed and be certified by a Mobile Electronics and Security Federation (MESF) accredited installer or a Thatcham Recognised Installer (TRI)
For mine I entered a work share agreement with the installer….I installed it and he wrote the certificate.

Just re-read this. Many immobiliser systems will do key fob and central locking without being an alarm system so can be DIY installed.
Some even do door opening where it not only unlocks the car it also pops the door from the latch.
Personally I don't consider an alarm worthwhile as nobody takes any notice of them anyway.

If you want a full alarm and you've not got the luxury of a friendly fitter to fill out a certificate, then you could get one with an easily removable siren. IVA requires you to show the immobiliser working only, so you could plug the siren in later... there might be one or two cars on here that have done this little "workaround" ;-)
