Smacks a bit of Grasser Racing too.
Again, someone has taken a GTR, modified the body a bit and called it something else.
1000kgs.............they must have forgotten to add the oils, water and it must run on fresh air too.
I think I should call mine something else too.
Suggestions on a postcard please........

I recognise it.
It's German, and if I remember correctly, the owner makes his money with an engineering company (maybe it was hydraulics?). Originally it looked just like an Ultima (which it was), and then he managed to beat it into shape with an ugly stick. Another pretender who doesn't acknowledge the origin of his car. There are a few companies in Germany selling British products as their own. Naughty.
It came out quite a while before Jon Ohlsson had his car.

Here it is doing a full Nordschleife lap in 7:28 or something like that. With 1000kgs and 700hp I would expect it to be faster. It was understeering a lot, as well. Maybe badly set up?
The first part (up to about 3:40 minutes) is waffle, then the car is driven:

Here's the website: http://www.m-racing.info/index.php
It does now mention a carbon safety cell, so maybe he has changed it quite a bit, and it could be that light.
It still looks like muck, though.

My god that's ugly. How have they managed to make such a dogs breakfast out of a GTR?!
They should certainly give the factory some credit for the donor car.... the under front shot showed what appears to by Ultima (rose joined) suspension & radiator and the brief heel & toe shot showed the normal chassis brace tubes, which suggests there's nothing carbon safety cell about it. Carbon panelling on the std chassis yes, but that's about it. And as for the price...

I actually think that most of it is pretty attractive. First off, that yellow/orange colour has to go. Just ick no matter what the design of the car is. But the cut off rear design that I've seen before (me thinks) on another modified model or two looks pretty good to my eyes, the center snout on the black one here is attractive as well. But the side-to-side opening in the front (in either colour) just doesn't work for me.
The interior work on that car in the video looks very impressive as well. As much as the builder of my car did a very impressive job, there are a lot of design elements in that car that are compelling.
However, though I'm not exactly sure what they are asking for that non-Ultima Ultima, I'm sure it is way too much. Especially if it is run at speeds, such as in the video, wherein 300 hp would do.

strange the start and finish not the same place for the timing?
I think they have done a Bridge to Gantry time. It is what most published times are for. There are several ways to time the 'Ring depending on what pits/entry to the track and configuration. It was a Bridge to Gantry that Clarkson tried to crack the 10min lap in the Jag S-Type.Ultima Chat | Ultima | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
