Thanks Spatz,
I'm very happy with the car. Everything seems to be running well. It was even much better by the afternoon on warm tarmac but "somebody" removed the cam for filming along the pits and this is the only decent footage I have.

Very nice indeed! The engine makes a great growl. I am surprised that the Ricardo box (sequential) does not make the "crashing" noise when changing gears you would expect with such a box, nor do you have an ever present whine. Does it have straight cut cogs?

This gearbox comes directly from a 996RSR but the 5th and 6th gears (straight cut gears) were modified as well as the CWP to get a final ratio more appropiate to the Ultima with 660mm rear tires. It has magnesium casing and internal pump (modified to use the gearbox upside down). These boxes were built in the past by Gemini Transmissions (bought by Ricardo later). Strong and lighter than our G50's.
CV joints were replaced for the bigger 996RSR units but the Ultima supplied driveshafts remains with no failure to the moment.
Cheers,
Javier

Stefano,

I will post a picture for you with both joints (RSR and Ultima) side by side. You will find the Porsche unit is stronger and has more offset . good luck
