Any idea how many GTR's are out there?

Not exactly, but total number of Ultimas worldwide of all models is probably heading towards 2000.
Some of those will still be “in build” though.

I think that the factory will surely have the totals, divided between home-kit and factory's made

I suspect the number of factory built cars will be quite small. I would guess at around 50.
