My breakdown cover has just run out on my Samsung UE46B8000 led TV.Its 3 years old now and been a great tv. Comet have sent me a letter saying i can get another 12 months for £136. Also they say they will give me a brand new replacement if it is beyond repair. They dont make tv anymore so what would they replace it with? Is it worth getting the insurance or do i take a chance and leave it.

Cheers Mart

Don't bother - retailer extended warranties like this are a complete rip off.

If you want to extend the warranty it'll be cheaper to DIY it than to do it via Comet and even then I wouldn't bother given the price of up to date replacements.

To be honest, you got ripped off by taking out "breakdown" cover in the first place. So this is hardly going to be any different.
