I've been offered a very reasonably priced NAD C270 Power Amplifier .
I just don't see how it could fit into my system though.

My kit...

NAD C370 Integrated Amplifier
NAD C541i CD Player
NAD C420 Tuner

NAD PP1 Phono Amplifier
Project Debut Turntable

Dynaudio Audience 42 Speakers
Partington Dreadnaught Speaker Stands

The speakers only have one set of binding posts per speaker, so I don't think they can be biwired? Not sure that would even make a difference though.
Any ideas?

Replace the integrated with a passive pre-amp, use this to feed the power amp?

Good shout. Love my C370 amp though, it's served me well. Wouldn't really want to get rid of it.

C370 has pre outs and can also be bridged to become a mono amp http://www.stereophile.com/integratedamps/633/
You could drive one speaker with your current integrated and the other with the C270. This may not be ideal because the C370 and C270 may sound slightly different.

Alternatively you could try the pre outs on the C370 to drive the C270.

Unless your speakers can be Bi amped then probably not worthwhile IMO.

You could use your amp as a pre amp if it has pre outs which I believe it does. But IMO the amps are too similar.

An alternative could be to bridge the amps and use an amp per speaker. You'd need to confirm it but I think the NAD supports bridging with a switch on the back?

The power amp would be relatively to sell on I reckon so giving it a try might be relatively risk free.

I found this via a Google search so apologies for the thread revival.

I also have NAD C370 integrated amp and have just bought two C272 power amps on a whim (man math said to buy now and sort out later).

Did the OP have any success/comments o what he or she did?

In my case, it should mean that I can use each power amp to power each speaker and the C370 gets to be a preamp in effect.

is this correct and should I do it?

Additionally, does anyone know how to do it?

Thanks in advance.

cheers

All sorted and hooked up now.

Seems like the volume dial results in a hugely increased volume now so have to keep that in mind now so I don't blow speakers
