Connecting a tablet to my Panasonic TV??
Discussion
Thanks, but there's no app on there that allows me to view movies, or whatever else I'm doing on my tablet, via my television. Or for that matter even connect to my television. The apps there seem to only allow connectivity to a Blu-ray player?
I'd like to be able to stream (terminology!?) to the television via the wireless. At the moment I connect the tablet via an HDMi cable.

From a quick look on the net, your TV appears to have DLNA and wireless, so it should be possible, depending on what exactly you want to do - three possible options (together with some pointers) I can think of:
1. Screencasting (getting what the tablet's currently displaying on your TV - i.e. the same functionality you're getting via HDMI) - you just need an app on the Tablet, assuming the TV has this functionality built in (quite likely nowadays)
2. DLNA Client('pulling' files from the tablet to TV for viewing) - you navigate from the TV to connect to the Server (your tablet) - if this server can't be found you probably need to install an App on the tablet (I use BubbleUPNP)... Much neater than the above for watching movies/ listening to music, as you can continue to use the tablet for other purposes should you wish!
3. DLNA Renderer (my preference - 'pushing' the files from the Tablet to the TV, so the tablet's effectively a posh remote-control) - again, BubbleUPNP can do this (assuming the TV is able to act as a Renderer - I have a 2011/2 Panny PVR that can do this, so I'd think it quite likely)

Thanks, option 3 is describing what I'm looking for. I'll have a look later, as I'm assuming that the app you mention, 'BubbleUPNP', will be available on the app store? Or would I need to download this from a site?1. does the tablet not have HDMI Output?
Yes it does, and I connect that way just now, but if there's a wireless facility that would be preferable. Rather than buy a longer HDMi lead to reach the settee, I can channel surf, or mess about with some other stuff, from the comfort of the settee.Forums | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
