As above,

I'm looking to buy a second television for playing computer games on. I'm shuffling some of my kit around over the next few months but essentially by February, I'll need to have my games consoles out of the front room and in my spare room or study.

My plan is to put my Xbox One and PS4 in the spare room and game there. I'll be sitting close to the TV (sat on my bed about 2-3ft away) so I don't need it to have an massive screen. I'm after great colour and a high resolution and refresh rate, although I know fk all about televisions so I don't know where to start.

I'd be looking to spend about £500. Something that would take an input from my PC would be great as I may start PC gaming again at some point. I gather Richer Sounds is a good place to buy from. I'll also be looking for a little speaker setup to go with it. Is it worth looking at a 4K TV or will that have no bearing on a game display?

PS4/Xbone don't go above 1080p so a 4k TV would be a waste or at least don't buy one just because it's 4k if it's only going to be attached to current consoles.

At 2-3 feet from the screen I think you'll struggle to find a TV that does 1080p that isn't too big.

Buy a monitor, rather than a TV.

I hadn't even considered a monitor before now. Too suggestion! It'd work as I only ever really watch TV online now too. Most of them seem to be between 20-30", I hope they won't be too small. I'm going to pop into Richer Sounds in town tomorrow and get a sense of scale for them.

This'll do the job:

Two HDMI connectors so you can have both connected together.
