HDMI matrix 4 in, 2 out; any recommendations please?
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm looking for a recommendation on the above or a better way of achieving my aim please PH.
Mrs SixWheels has authorised the purchase of a new TV before Christmas so my trusty old Sony KDL37EX503 is about to be moved from the living room to the kitchen (on the other side of the same wall).
I'm currently using 1x HDMI for ARC to a surround amp, leaving only 3x inputs for at least 4x devices (I have tried running the inputs (Sky, xbox, Bluray, Apple TV) into the amp then input to TV but end up with sync issues I've not been able to fix).
I'd like to watch any of those sources on both TVs, I think that means I need an HDMI matrix rather than a switch or splitter.
Could you recommend anything up to a budget of, say, £100? Reviews for stuff on the main websites range from rubbish to high praise for the same stuff so looking for kit people have experience with and vouch for.
Thanks, Steve.

I have got something that looks like this, but mine is made by Matrix:

I'm only using it for 3 inputs and 1 output, but it works very well, and does the sound as well as the video.

I have got this one on the way from Amazon:

As above, I think that most of the Amazon ones are the same thing just branded slightly differently.
I have had very good experience with Neet splitters in the past and still have a 1 to 2 splitter running in my system. Their service is excellent and they offer a lifetime warranty. I couldn't justify buying their matrix because it looks exactly the same as the above and is almost twice the price.

I have an older version of this one.
My set up is:
Living Room:
7 year Toshiba Flatscreen
Sky+ Box
Amazon Firestick
Xbone
PS3
HDMI Maxtix thing.
Bedroom:
2 year old cheapass Technika Flatscreen
Longest HDMI cable I could get off amazon running to the HDMI matrix box.
IR repeater over HDMI.
Knockoff ebay sky remote
Good:
Most things can be controlled from the bedroom
Quality is bedroom seems unaffected
Bad:
XBone controller doesn't have the range to work in the bedroom, but the PS3 is fine. XBone can be controlled by phone, as can the firestick.
Sky remote in bedroom is laggy, but fine once you are used to it.
IR repeater in the living room is finicky about placement, so only points at the sky box. This means to change HDMI input I have to get out of bed. First world problem's eh?
If the bedroom TV is switched off when the living room TV is already off, when you switch the living room TV on it won't get signal till you reset the HDMI box. I presume this is either due to the HDMI box getting confused, or something not following the HDMI standard correctly.
If you change input on one TV, the other one goes blank for a few seconds but resumes on the correct input.
But I'm very happy with the whole setup considering when I first looked at doing this the Neet box was only only one I saw on the market for under £100 (the whole setup w/ repeater and cables was about £110 iirc) while others were £400+
