Samsung TV switching off while streaming

Hello all, I have a samsung tv which switches off while watching netflix/iplayer, it freezes and 10 seconds later goes to standby.

It's done it for ages but I could put up with it however it's done it 20 times today and I'm about to throw it out!

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing it? firmware is up to date etc.

Sounds like it might be an overheating problem - are the vents blocked by something?

Just gone to check it and it's cold, doesn't seem to put out any heat at all.

It's freestanding in the back room, not blocked in at all.

How old is it ?

The symptoms sound like it could be a PSU problem - a lot of them seem to use cheap electrolytic capacitors which degrade, cause the PSU to fail in the way you describe and ultimately "blow" their cans giving a nice little "pop" as the blue smoke escapes.

It's about 14 months old, it's streaming netflix on wifi if that matters.
