Hope someone can help, used to be able to google the solution but cannot find the right answer.

Very occasionally my wifi will drop and, if i have iTunes open, this seems to screw something up with my iTunes library (which is on my NAS not my laptop, along with all my music).

Once wifi restored, if I try to open iTunes it cannot find the library and when I select it tells my "The iTunes Library.itl file is locked"

Google then tells me to go to the iTunes folder / properties / security / edit properties and change the settings so user has full control of the folder. It accepts this and then starts to apply to all files beneath, but jams on all the key ones like the library xml and itl files.

Some advice says to go into security / advanced and "enable inheritance" and tick the "replace all child objects...." box

Then I get - "unable to save permission changes on the iTunes library"

any ideas my learned friends?

It sounds like iTunes fails poorly when wi-fi drops. Unless there's an iTunes fix (and I doubt there will be) I'd concentrate on why the wi-fi is poor.

Thanks, both would be solutions I guess, but really after a fix when this happens rather replacement advice

Seems to have sorted itself out after PC turned off last night, but it has a couple of times in the past
