Hi all,

I've recently bought myself four Samsung M5 multi-room speakers. I was all set for the Sonos but was offered a deal too good to pass up as these were soon to be end of line (which I had no issue with, not being particularly tech-y). The sound quality is very good, along the lines of the Sonos 3 but I do have one issue which I'll come onto in a minute.

My biggest problem is setting them up. I do not have a hub (WAM250) in order to turn the system into a multi-room system so, while one is in order I figured I'd try one out on its own over the wifi in our home. Queue the next 2hrs sitting in the under stairs cupboard where our wireless router is trying to get the speaker to pick up the wifi network; I can't do it! I've followed all instructions such as:

1. Plug in M5
2. Press WPS button on router (light starts flashing - ZTE H298N router)
3. Press WPS button on M5 (blue light flashes and speaker bleeps)
4. Start the Samsung Multi-room App (tried on iOS and Android) and have it try to bridge phone, wifi and speaker

Nothing happens. The app searches for an eternity but cannot find the speaker. Likewise, the speaker cannot find the wifi.

I tried hard wiring the speaker to the router via Ethernet cable. The speaker connected right away but, I cannot find the speaker on the app or stream to it via the wireless network from my phone.
I tried Bluetooth to make sure that the speaker produced sound and yep, all good there. What am I doing wrong?

My next question is, how would I go about complimenting the speakers with some more bass? Can anyone recommend a subwoofer that may compliment the M5 that can be wirelessly connected and integrated or, am I fixed with current output? I haven't heard an M7 speaker, so I cannot say whether or not that may meet my desires more but, I find the M5's a little lacking in the bass department, with some issue to handle it at higher volumes.

I have two m3's, was fairly simple to set up

1. use app with phone connected to WIFI
2. select add speakers
3. press the wps button on the speaker you want to add
4. wait for it to connect
5. do the same for the other speakers
6. use the app to connect speakers together (surround)

Thanks, Munka.

I decided to ignore the instructions provided with the speaker and do as you say, only press WPS on the speaker and not router also. I then had to ignore the prompt given by the app that suggested Bluetooth assistance and to search manually as this would just spend an age looking before giving up.

Result of both steps was connection! I can now stream anything I like from tablet/phone to the speaker. I'm waiting for the hub to arrive but when I do I'll open the others and connect them.

Thanks for your advice.
