I need some advice please!

Holiday home on the Isle of Wight. Inevitable existing cast off non HD plasma with simple old school Sky package.

Most of us who use the place have existing Sky+ accounts and viewing cards at home. We also have a few elderly visitors who like the sport options but wouldn't have a clue about anything technical.

With the Olympics looming, I'd like to upgrade the TV to HD standard so I might as well sort the Sky out at the same time. I know I could just go for a fresh upgrade with the standalone account but I wonder if there's a better more cost effective way to get the same results. In total, the house is used for maybe three months of the year so it bleeds cash as it is, would be chuffed to stem the flow! The normal aerial reception isn't bad, we've a bedroom tv with Freeview that works fine.

I'd like to end up with all channel access as at home. Any clever ideas out there?

Thanks in advance.

Now TV is sky's streaming option. Entertainment pass is £6.99 per month, movies are £9.99 per month, sports are £32.99 per month. No minimum contract, you can mix and match packs as and when you need it with no requirement to pay when you are not there.

Assuming that you have broadband with a decent speed and unlimited downloads.

Or Sky Go if you have a spare login and decent internet?

hehe That's good!

Not thought of the BB option, we've got BT Infinity fibre so more than fast enough. One of my lads has Now TV in his room, will look at that as an idea, see if he reckons it works.

Can guarantee without looking that all the spare log in options on Sky have been snaffled by household Yoof.

You could try a Slingbox. One off payment for the box and it's basically like having your Sky box at home in your holiday home, with all channels and recordings etc.

Subscribe to Sky Multi-Room, then take the spare box to the holiday home. Just don't connect it to the internet as the IP will give away its location.
