Hey,

I'm currently shopping around for a new TV as I'm moving flats soon and want to upgrade from my old 32 inch.
My budget is around £500 however I have no objection to buying a refurbished / used one as I get a better spec tv for within my budget.

Websites I prefer: richer sounds, currys, Amazon but suggestions are welcome.

Ideally looking for around 48 inches however if the deal was great on a 43 inch I would consider it.

Main goal of the TV is the best picture quality. I won't really use 3d much however it would be a bonus. Most the content I watch will be streamed so up scaling is a must as well.

I have been looking around and have found these tvs (mainly from richer sounds as they offer a clearance section):
LG 49UB850V (£449. 95)
Samsung UE48JU6400 (£493.95)
LG 49UF675V (£474.95)

I'm stuck choosing mainly between the LG UB850V and the Samsung as some reviews say the up scaling is rubbish on the LG.

Can anyone provide some assistance as I'm at a loss!

Cheers

Chris Stott

Can't comment on the non Samsung sets, but I have the previous model Samsung 6400 (H series) and the picture is decent.

I also have 2 J series sets - a 5600 and a 9000. The 9 is stunning, but it should be at c.£1,500. The 5600 is a 32" bedroom TV. It only cost £250, yet the picture is really nice, so I'd expect the J6400 to be good as well.

All have good Smart TV features - work well, intuitive to use etc.

Highly recommend Richer Sounds.

Ah brilliant, I think I am leaning towards the Samsung then!
