Chromecast and Sky go
Discussion
It can't be done with Chromecast, Sky has disabled the ability to cast/mirror (unless there is a cracked app somewhere).
The nearest thing to this is to use the set up I have. Windows tablet (or laptop) with mini/micro/normal HDMI out, plug HDMI into TV and either mirror display or just output to second screen, use Internet Explorer to go to Sky Go site and watch whatever you want on the big screen.
I did this with the Golf on Sky Sports using my MIL's Sky Go account on Thursday/Friday night until BBC2 started coverage.

+1 on using a laptop connected to the TV. Sky have blocked all casting from their Android and IOS apps in an effort to protect their content, because that must work really well works given how many illegal Sky Sports streams exist on the internet....The nearest thing to this is to use the set up I have. With regards to hardware:
£70 gets you a Linx Vision 8 which has HDMI out and allows you to stream Xbox One, PS4 and PC games (I have one of these)

Other good ones are Lenovo Miix or Linx 1020 as both are tablets with keyboards and micro HDMI outs.
Micro HDMI £5.50:

I'd imagine if you've any breed of a laptop (Win, Mac, Chromebook, Linux) or desktop you could just cast your entire desktop to the Chromecast, no ? Or if SkyGo plays in Chrome these days just cast that tab (it didn't last year because it needed Silverlight, but maybe things have changed ?)
Keeps it simple, avoids buying extra stuff.

Yep you can cast the desktop including sound to Chromecast. Not as good as direct HDMI feed but still works perfectly fine. Keeps it simple, avoids buying extra stuff.

Thanks for all the replies. I do use tthe laptop/HDMI output option, but was trying to cast from my tablet whilst in bed, instead of getting out to change stations on the laptop.
Cheers

Do they do wireless hdmi senders? I used some scart ones years ago to transmit a signal from a sky box to an upstairs to before getting a magic eye.
