SHURE se215 ( fix or bin )
Discussion
Went to the gym last week only to find that the left earphone is not working.
Tried cleaning connectors etc... Also cleaned my Iphone 6 connector. Still no joy.
I would say i look after my earphones and they are not overly used. Certainly not everyday use. Only taken them a handful of times to the gym.
Little miffed as only bought them 3-4 years ago for about £90. These are the 2nd pair i have owned. I like the way they fit.
Shure UK website says they do not seem to repair S or SE earphone.
So the question is.
A) Is there a reputable place to have them sent off for repair, is it worth it? no idea of cost.
B) are they to be condemned for the bin?
Thanks in advance.

Could it be the cable that's faulty - I think you can buy these separately so wouldn't mean buying a new set of headphones.
I've got a draw full of faulty shure se215 and se315 headphones - yours have had a decent run as before they changed to a detachable cable I used to get through a pair once a year !!

Will check if you can buy individual headphones (left or right). I've got a draw full of faulty shure se215 and se315 headphones - yours have had a decent run as before they changed to a detachable cable I used to get through a pair once a year !!
That might be the problem but if it ends up being the cable then im worried it will be a waste of money.
I will have ended up buying the equivalent of a new pair.
I had a set of SE215's, great when working, but it's known (I found out after mine went wrong) that the cable connection jack on these are shonky. Mine failed after 12months.
I bought a replacement cable from Shure, that failed in 6 months, and I bought a really cheap cable from Amazon, which failed in 3.
I've given up, thrown the 215's away and replaced with a set of Jaybird X3's. Best thing I ever did!
