Surround Sound - HELP
Discussion
Hi everyone,
Hoping someone can help me!! I set up a surround sound system last night and I cannot for the life of me get it to play the audio from TV / Smart TV (iPlayer etc).
I currently have a HDMI cable plugged into the Blueray Player HDMI (Arc) and the HDMI 1 (Arc) on the TV. I can get the sound to work fine playing DVDs in the Blueray but cannot get the TV sound out.
I have selected external speakers on the input list on the TV but getting no sound at all.
TV is: 50" LB580V LG Smart TV
Blueray surround sound: panasonic sc-btt490ebk
Any help would be appreciated. I believe I could go and buy an optical cable and try that but not sure if I am missing something??
Thanks all

No setting on the bluray player to switch it to tv sound?
Seems like it's still trying to output the bluray sound?
Well on the Blueray menu if I go into Ext it shows all of the outputs and I am selecting Arc and in the sound settings on the meny I have selected TV.Seems like it's still trying to output the bluray sound?
But still no dice.... Thanks for your help though, much appreciated.
Have you turned CEC/ ARC on through the TV software?
ARC is a feature of CEC so all that needs to be turned on through the TV, once thats all done, you may need to leave it a few minutes before ARC begins to work, it's not always instant. The TV and BluRay player need to handshake etc.
