Bluetooth speaker, balanced sound, sub-£50: Does one exist?
Discussion
I'm trying to find a reasonable-sounding portable Bluetooth speaker that doesn't cost a fortune, for use both with music and with movies/TV shows.
At the moment I have 3 of 'em, none of which are ideal...
1. Sony SRS-X33. This thing was a huge disappointment, and wasn't particularly cheap either. Seems to get good reviews but I find it far too bass-heavy and there's no means of adjusting it. No good at all for low-volume use; by the time it's loud enough for speech to be heard clearly, the bass has become very intrusive. It also distorts at higher volumes, thanks to the exaggerated bass.
2. JBL Go. Nice and small, clear sound, also works very well for handsfree phone calls. But being a very small device, when used for music and movies it has the opposite problem to the Sony, i.e. very little bass.
3. VTIN Cuber. Very similar in size and sound to the JBL Go, only cheaper and waterproof, which makes it handy for use outdoors or for music in the shower!
Without spending loads, is there a fairly compact speaker that has a more balanced sound than the above?
