Hey guys,

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but finding it hard to get a answer i fully understand.

I'm setting up a home projector system. I'm unable to bury cables in the wall or floor. I have a shelf at the back of the room with a socket by it. This is where I plan to place the projector. On the other side of the room I have my screen, sources devices (blue-ray player and ps4) and Denon 5.1 amp with speakers wired up already. Ive been using the Benq wireless transmitter so far for my 1080 projector which has worked well but I'm looking to upgrade to a 4k projector, which will rule out wireless image. I can move the source players easily enough next to the new projector however I need to find way to wireless send sound to the amp without a quality loss or creating sync issues. Are there any products out there people can recommend for this? I've seen HDMI senders but am unsure if they are the best solution.

Thanks in advance.

A

A simple bluetooth sender and receiver sounds like it would hit the spot. The latest BT protocols are pretty good audio quality too (older ones weren't). Something like this perhaps:

I use one of these to bluetooth connect to a Samsung TV:

You do have to reconnect it everytime things are powered off though.

With regard to your picture transmission, I had an electrician run a long HDMI cable through the ceiling using electrician's rods, and it only cost me about £80. All my devices are plugged into an HDMI switch which is connected to the amp via an optical cable, then the HDMI switch is connected to the projector via the long HDMI through the ceiling.

Just be a little careful with 4k and HDMI cables, any longer than 10 meters and you could start getting issues. You may be better off using cat6 and a set of repeaters.

hey guys,

thanks a lot for replying. Im keen to give the bluetooth transmitter a try, esp at that price. I've also had these suggested to me: https://cpc.farnell.com/denon-professional/dn-202w...

does anyone have any experience with these?

re: the image im actually able to play the players near the projector so can simply run the HDMI into the projector - the only thing i need to send wirelessly is audio.

thanks

Are you wanting 5.1 channel sound or stereo only?

That device will give you stereo sound only.

You probably want something like this:

StarTech.com HDMI over Wireless Extender - Wireless HDMI Video - 165 ft (50m) - 1080p

Then you can split the HDMI at source (unless the projector has pass through) and then feed this to your amp.

The amp will then extract the multi channel audio from the HDMI.

I'm not really sure why you need to spit the audio at the projector, this should be done by the AV amp.

DVD - AV Amp - Projector?

I guess I'm missing something?
