Would this box solve 4K HDCP on an older receiver?
Discussion
Hi,
I've just got my new TV and amp up and running. The TV is a Panasonic and I'm using the tuner in it for terrestial TV, catch up TV and for 4k streaming from Amazon & Netflix.
The ampr I'm using is Yamaha RX-V 581 but I also have an older RX-V 3067 from 2012-ish. I haven't had time to test it yet but am 99% sure that it won't handle 4K as the HDCP 2.2 standard needed came out long after it was built. I presume it supports HDCP 1.4 (?).
Anyway, would one of these boxes sort the problem? I'm using ARC between the TV and the amp so presume I'd put it there to convert the audio signal going to the amp to 1.4? Or am I just wasting my time/creating more problems?
