I’m looking at buying a new tv to replace my ageing 23 inch tv that I bought 7 years ago, and a quick search of google led me to the Samsung UE49NU7100. Is it a good tv for it’s price, or are there any other TVs that are better for the same price?

Bought one for my mum last month. It’s pretty good at the price, and 5 year warranty via John Lewis.

Not the prettiest TV ever, and the feet are a loooong way apart - ended up having to buy a wider unit for it to sit on.

I was looking at the 55 inch model but was steered away from it as the screen hasn't got that quick a response time. If you want to watch a lot of sport or play xbone/ps4 then there are better but if you just want to watch TV then it's fine.

When I use my PS4 I’m on it a lot, but I don’t have a problem with my current TV with the games that I play, so I wouldn’t of thought that I’ll have a problem with any new TV. For reference my current TV is a Samsung Syncmaster XL2370HD.

such as? I play lots of PS4 on my TV. my TV is almost 10years old though so anything will be an improvement.

I went for the 55 inch version of this. https://www.richersounds.com/tv-projectors/all-tvs...

The image is massively improved compared to the other 46 inch 5 year old TV we have. It's not as good as OLED but the price is no where near that of an OLED set.

That’s £150 more than I want to spend. I could come up to £500 but that would have to be my limit as I also have to buy a TV stand.

I’ve done some more looking and I think I might spend another £50 and get this https://www.johnlewis.com/lg-50uk6750pld-led-hdr-4... instead.
