2013 soundbar with new 4k tv
Discussion
I've read a few things which say that old soundbars will not work with new 4k tvs
Parents recently picked up a new LGB8 55 inch tv. They already had a Sony soundbar from 2013, model CT60BT. They've connected it to the tv using the optical cable and it is producing sound just fine and the 4k HDR picture is fine too.
Is this to be expected and the only issue is that it can't play 7.1 Dolby atmos? Or are there other downsides?
Is it really that much better with 7.1? To the extent that it's worth spending another few hundred quid on a newer soundbar? If so, what models would you recommend? They wouldn't want a sub, so ideally a soundbar which does it all
