Upgrading 40" TV to 50"....
Discussion
Hi
Last year I replaced our fairly ancient Samsung 40" TV with an up to date 40" model (Samsung 4K Smart TV) which was quite a bit smaller in footprint due to the reduced bezels. In hindsight I really ought to have gone up to a 43", but after discussing it with the OH, she is open to "upsizing"; there really doesn't appear to be much choice between 43-50 so a 50" is now a possibility. The room is really long but relatively narrow, and we sit around 11-12ft from the screen. I don't want the TV to dominate the room (it sits on a small wooden table next to a relatively small freestanding wood burning stove) , so 50" is probably as large as I want to go. Does this sound reasonable?
The 40" Samsung is around a year old (cost £399) and would like to recover what I can as I don't have a use for it; I take it gumtree is the best option (painful as it has been in the past when selling macs...)?
Thanks
Tim

I have a 40” Sony that I bought in 2009 and it has done me well. I was looking at some in Currys the other day and they are massive now! I think I will go for a 49” Sony next; https://www.richersounds.com/sony-kd49xf9005bu.htm...
I was thinking of mounting it on the wall, but that is the very max size I can get away with (wall and wife allowing)!
