Looking for a bit of advice.
Started playing the guitar in March last year - got an Epiphone LP Custom Pro and a Marshall MG30DFX.
Really happy with the guitar, the amp is OK but looking to upgrade it if it's deemed to be worthwhile.
Will only be used at home - in a detached house so volume isn't a major concern.

Budget is around £300, currently leading the way is the Vox AV30 - any thoughts?

Highly recommend the Boss Katana - it sounds good and you can try out loads of effects.
Having said that I use a Fender Pro Jnr with pedals (to get it to drive naturally it needs to be very loud).

Get yourself to a decent music shop and try as many as you can, including ones you can't afford, to get a sense of which ones click for you - otherwise it can be a bit like asking someone whether you should get a Fender or a Gibson ;-)

Why was this moved to HC & HiFi?

It's guitars & music, not HiFi surely?

Marshall DSL1CR. £260. 1W Valve Combo with Reverb.

Alternatively the 1w head with a 1x12 cab would be a nice little home setup.

Of course the proper answer is to get yourself to your local music shop and try a few out smile
