Samsung The Frame

The other half wants a tv in a room I don’t. This tv seemed like an option. After reading a few reviews it seems they are a pricey tv for what you actually get. So you are paying for the fact it doesn’t look like a tv rather than it’s a good tv.
I’m undecided still as i imagine the novelt would wear off quickly and it would end up being on the wall without a painting being displayed. On this basis I’m moving towards buying a £400 tv, keeping it in the cupboard and on the once in a blue moon occasion she’s convinced we need a tv in there useit.
So are you looking for a decent tv or a tv that doesn’t look like one?

I have the original Frame. We moved to a new house which we bought off some developers, they'd placed power sockets and coaxial points on a wall in nearly every room... in the places we wouldn't place a TV! We didn't want a massive TV on the wall and thought this would be a good option. I'm really impressed with the TV; I'm a tech fan, but I wouldn't necessarily keep up with the latest TV releases. The Art feature did take a little configuration in our instance, but on the whole it works fairly well, it does depend on the picture you've chosen and the light in the room. For instance, it you've got a B&W snow scene the white is going to be too bright in a darker room. However, maybe I'm being too critical because I know that it's a TV, where as several friends have visited and made a comments along the lines of "Where's your TV?", "I like that picture" or "Is that one of those picture frames with a light behind it?". I guess from that point of view it kinda worked. But, truthfully, when we don't have visitors, we just turn it off.
We have on and are more than happy with it, I will be buying one for the lounge as well at some point.
Not easy to fit though! I had taken the steps to install the relevant outlets behind the TV (in a newly constructed stud wall) prior to actually buying one and found that the small diameter flexible lead that goes from the TV to the tuner box has a plug on it that will not fit through a 20mm conduit. Fortunately the other side of the stud wall wasn't plastered so I managed to hide it as intended. The outlet plates had to be removed as well (single gang fused connection unit and a brush outlet) as the TV would not sit flush to the wall with them in place.
A ball ache to fit if you want everything hidden and the TV flush to the wall but worth the hassle in my opinion. The bracket design is very good though and easy to install, the TV then just hooks straight on and pushes back to the wall.
