Soundbar sound dropout

I have an lg t.v. with an an lg soundbar. When watching virgin and it seems to only happen on HD channels the sound drops out quite regularly for a second or two, sometimes it's quite a loud crack like when you disconnect a microphone.

The wireless sub is on the other side of the room, I wonder if it could be something to do with interference.

Has anyone experienced something similar and found a fix?
