I’m due to redecorate / refurbish a reception room and would like a dedicated TV room.

Currently I have:

A Gemini P12-300SB-DF subwoofer;
A Denon PMA 250 amplifier;
Q-Acoustics 3010 speaker x 2

If possible I’d like to keep these. Possibly adding Q Acoustics 3050 floor standing speakers.

In terms of tv / wiring what considerations do I need to make?

I’ll be ok channeling walls and running cables under the floor so any advice welcome.

Many thanks

By the look of things you have a 2.1 set
up at the moment. If you are looking at adding floor standers you might want to look at going for a 5.1 set up at least which will mean wiring for a centre channel and two rear channels.
I’d look at chasing in HDMI for a projector as well ( usually on the opposite wall to the TV and some network cable as a start.

Run cables for whatever your long term aspiration is.

There's some guides on placement here - https://www.dolby.com/us/en/speaker-setup-guides/i...

I have a room that I've cabled for 7.1.4 but I've not kitted it out yet - and even then, it may be a few years (if ever) that I actually get to 7.1.4 - however, the cable is cheap so may as well run it now.

Figure out where your aerial & satellite feeds will go - and connections from your amp to TV - ideally ducted so that you can run new cables between the two in future.

Double run any wires for redundancy aswell.

Speaker wires to all points.

I'd run cat 5 or 6 while you're at it
