Im wanting to leave sky and im sure that when they installed sky q they swapped out the lnb and i take it that its not compatible with free to air broadcasts.

So anything special im looking out for lnb wise?

all LNB's are compatible. They probably change it form a single lnb to a duel or quad LNB so you can view and record at the same time. Just get a freesat box and plug it in.

Seems sky q uses a wideband lnb that doesnt work with non sky q boxes looks like i can get a hybrid lnb that will work with both but requires swapping cables between outputs on the lnb

You can pick up a hybrid LNB from Amazon for less than £20.

It might be worth investing in a satellite finder at the same time (less than a tenner). This could prove very handy if you inadvertently knock the dish when swapping the LNBs.

Did you fix this?
I just swapped my existing Sky Q lnb for a ‘standard’ one.

Very easy job and I’m the worlds least capable guy at stuff like this. It just pulled off and pushed back on. Just keep the sky dish still.
