New Year's Resolution is to upgrade my ancient audio system as well as decorating the lounge! My focus is audio so I am not looking to purchase a new multichannel amp but rather stick with stereo and upgrade that.
Anyhow I have 4 video devices that I would like to switch between the HDTV and the HD projector.
It's unlikely that I will upgrade to 4k in the short term.
There's lots of gear listed on Amazon etc but how do you evaluate what is correct for your needs?
Any recommendations welcome.

I'll be taking the audio off earlier/direct.
I'll only ever need one output at a time, either TV or Projector.
Really don't want an AV receiver as I will never have more than 2 large speakers plus may be a sub and I want to invest in something 2 channel and relatively powerful.

Just over a year ago, I bought the following HDMI matrix (4 in, 2 out) so I could switch between Bluray player, Sky HD box, PS3, and AppleTV inputs, going out to TV and/or a projector. I'm only using HD, not 4k and no plans to use 4k in the near future.

It supports independent switching of any of the sources to either or both of the outputs.

I've used it pretty much every day and not had any issues with it - does exactly what it was advertised as doing. Obviously no guarantee of future reliability, but I've been happy with it so far.
