I'm about to downsize to a smaller place, so storage space for the stuff (SWMBO refers to it as clutter) I've held on to for years simply won't be available once we've moved.

I have a couple of Denon cassette decks, an amp and a tuner.

I took them to a high end Hifi shop in Birmingham 5 years ago and asked if they'd be interested in buying them, or if they'd recommend the best place to sell them. They weren't interested in buying them, but asked me why I was selling, and more importantly if I needed to sell them.

I replied that I didn't need to sell, but they took up a fair bit of space, were heavy and I didn't see myself using them any time soon, if indeed ever again.

They said they were very good quality, and that the modern stuff available isn't a patch on them, and to buy something of equal quality would now be prohibitively expensive, so if didn't need to sell them, I should hold onto them.

Fast forward 5 years and now I NEED to sell them frown

I don't do Ebay, so wondered if there was a Hifi forum that would have a for sale/wanted section, or perhaps even a good old fashioned shop in the Midlands (or within 75 miles of Birmingham) that deals in secondhand Hifi equipment that would buy them off me ?

Any help/suggestions gratefully received. Many thanks in advance.

Try Gumtree? Pick up cash on collection.

Denon stuff is not really worth much, you'll do well to get £50 a unit if they're working, FM tuners are worth £20. I doubt a shop will give you that unless they're sort after models.

Look on eBay for similar models, will give you an idea of value

I've used these guys in the past to sell my Kraken:

2ndhandhifi.co.uk

Worth a try... as a guide I got around 50% of their selling price for my amp.

Model numbers and condition would help.

Try pinkfishmedia, but you will need 50 posts on it before you can put ads up IIRC
