Anyone any experience of comparing or owning these speakers ?

Considering an upgrade from Monitor Bronze 2 to maybe a Monitor Silver 50 or the B&W 606, or ... ? Kef Q350s ?
Will live in a living room 7m x 7m, with usual furniture, curtains etc in it.

Options for comparisons in store are limited right now, but would be possible once this virus thing is gone*.

Looking for something more detailed.

My domestic manager has banned the idea of floorstanders. Something about floorpsace and being able to open cupboards.

You are not comparing apples with apples.
The MA 50 is similar in size to the BW607.
The MA 100 is similar in size to the BW606.

The 606 is a big stand mount speaker. As is the MA 100.

A fiend has the BW607. It’s a great sounding speaker but it’s light on low frequency reproduction. It needs a well matched sub.

The bigger 606 is likely to resolve some of this. If you can fit them in the lounge, and get approval from the boss. They also only come in either black or white.

What amplifier do you have? And what source do you have?

Hadn't clocked the size differences to be honest.

Arcam SA20 amp.
Digital stuff via a tuefel connector, Marantz CD player (CD5005), and a Rega Planar 1 TT.

None of them will go on an actual stand, they will sit on a cabinets either side of the woodburner. The turntable, CD player and am also sit on this cabinet.

I've been using some foam pads to isolate the speakers and keep vibrations away from the TT (seems to have worked very well).

Great amp. It’s what I wanted but the boss said no at the cost. We had just splurged 20k on a wedding. I went with an Audiolab 6000a in the end which I got for a great price, and has the digital inputs I wanted.

Your amp has a good amount of power so won’t have issues driving the larger speakers, so go for them if space permits.

For me I would go for the Monitor Audio Silver 100. They just feel and look like a better product over the BW (which only come in black or white).

Any excuse to post my slightly older RX1’s.

Montior Audio are one of my prefered speaker options for installs and low/mid-range surround/cinema rooms.

There are several of us dealers here and happy to help out on pricing if needed.

Vex - care to say why they are your favourite ?

You might prefer them because they have a better sound quality vs cost, or it could be because they're easier to work with as a supplier etc.

After a discussion with my manager here it seems aesthetics are in fact most important criteria, and furthermore black / white speakers are 'not possible' for our living room. The current Monitor Audio Bronze 2s in walnut are acceptable.

So I guess it's Monitor silver 50 or Silver 100 in Walnut then...

When you look to the forums Arcam is regularly paired with Monitor.

It may be worth a wait as a new Bronze series is currently being released. But you really want to visually see the difference. The Silvers really do have a premium feel to them. I really never liked the plastic lip the older Bronze models have.
