75" - Sony Bravia XG80 vs LG UM7600?
Discussion
Hi all
Bit of a technophobe when it comes to modern TV specs so looking for advice on the two following TVs:
SONY BRAVIA KD75XG8096BU
http://tiny.cc/kjufmz
LG 75UM7600PLB -
http://tiny.cc/okufmz
From a layman's perspective they seem to be pretty closely matched spec wise? Price difference is negligible, and can't find any really comprehensive reviews or comparisons to go off.
In more normal times I would go to the shop and look at them, but alas cannot!
The determining factor for me is around picture quality. I have a good sound system so that side of things is redundant for the most part. I do a lot of 'smart' tv work like streaming youtube from phone to TV etc. Own an LG TV at present and find the OS decent enough, so thoughts on the Android OS for the Sony would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Not much help but I found pulling the model base number/range out form the million digit shop number and there is often a review somewhere.

Might have the info, you will need to drill down though.
AV forums may also have the info if no one here chips in.

I bought an LG8200 (55) on the strength of the Which reviews and ended up exchanging for a Sony g8 (49) which was actually rated as poor by Which!
The biggest lesson I learnt was regarding motion processing. Both LG and Sony have slower/faster processors throughout their model range.
The 8200 had the slow processor so although fine for general viewing the judder and blur when watching live sports was noticeable.
Sony I think offer 400, 800 and 1000hz speeds across the g8 range.
The other consideration is LG use IPS panels rather than VA. The issue I had was with 'IPS glow' where the glow from bright scenes would light over the black bottom and top borders and it was very noticeable even with the brightness turned down.
So in my experience a Sony VA panel with a decent motion processor is the better TV.
