Sonos Playbar and RF TV Remote
Discussion
Afternoon all!
I have an issue at the moment where I have a Sonos Playbar which is not picking up my TV remote control signal.
I believe this is because the Sharp TV remote uses RF signal, whereas the soundbar uses IR.
I imagine my only course of action is to get some manner of universal remote which sends both an IR and RF signal?
Any suggestions / recommendations appreciated please!

Sorry, didnt see this.
How old is the TV, Very odd for the remote to be RF rather than IR but a quick way to tell would be do shield the remote from the tv (point it into a cusion or something) and press buttons. If it changes stuff on the TV it is RF, if not it is propably IR line-of-sight.
Do you have a model number for the Sharp TV?

No problem, thanks for replying.
Its around 4 years old.
Model is Sharp LC40CFE5221K 40 Inch Full HD 1080p LED TV with Freeview HD
Just tracked it down and its definitely RF:
No more aiming in the direction of the TV
With new RF technology the remote control will work without the need to point it directly at the TV set. Great when the room is busy and you need some control.

I've done a bit of digging and came up with this.
http://www.umc-uk.co.uk/sharpcodes.php
However it doesnt clearly explain wether the codes given are for RF Tv control or for IR.
If you use Sky, there could also be another way around it. Let me know and I can guide you on the Sky route if that helps.
