Hi all,

A question for the more knowledgeable members of this forum. I would like to move a TV from it's present location adjacent to an antenna socket to the other end of the room without festooning the skirting board with coaxial cable.

Is there such a thing as a hdmi transmitter that connects to the antenna socket and then wirelessly transmits the signal to a receiver mounted at the tv's new location?

I have searched on line, but would rather trust the collective wisdom of PH for recommendations than 5* ratings on Amazon!

Thanks in anticipation.

Cheers
Graham

No.

You'd have to look at Wi-Fi solutions like Firesticks but that won't get you the terrestrial signals.

Worth a look at?

Worked for me, sits above the skirting and looks like it is part of it.

Thank you both for your quick responses. Unfortunately the trunking idea won't work owing to a doorway on one wall and a fireplace on the other, so no continuous run of skirting board available. I'll have a look at at WiFi options, but our Internet speed isn't the greatest.

Cheers again

You don’t say if you’ve got carpets or not, but RG174 Coax is only about 3mm thick and can be lost beneath carpets at the edge of the room without showing.

+1

Either fit another aerial, or route the current aerial another way externally.

If you don't want to lift up carpets etc then run from outside.

How close is your aerial to your wifi router/a network socket?

HD HomeRun plus Firestick if you have half decent wifi and can present a network cable and coax near each other.

This one has 4 tuners so possibly overkill (I have one with two tuners but couldn't be bothered Googling that much:

A belated thank you to those who responded. I think another antenna will be the way forward.
Thanks again
