Hi, hope you can help me please. I’m moving into a rented flat this weekend, it’s fully furnished but I can’t work out how to make the TVs work. I think there might be something missing, maybe a sky box or similar?

It’s old, everything appears to be wired up apart from the pics. Would be great if someone could give me a clue please. Don’t really want a subscription to anything but if I need to track down a box from somewhere then that’s fine

The twin black cables with F connectors looks like a satelite feed - so needs a sky or freest box unless your TV has a freest tuner.

The box at the bottom is a regular TV aerial amp / distribution - 1 in & 6 out - each one of those should feed a TV point somewhere....

Brilliant, thank you so much. There’s a sky remote in one of the rooms so guess I just need to track a box down from somewhere and see what I can get

Thanks again

In the mean time if you just plug a normal TV lead from your TV into one of the outputs on that 6 way distribution amplifier you should get terrestrial Freeview TV.

Without knowing what you've got - TV's and outlets per room & what you want to achieve, it's hard to provide an answer.....

Do you want sky channels or just free to air ones ? Do you want to record ? Are there connections where you need them etc.

As Mr Pointy says, a TV fly lead into that box will work (assuming there is actually a feed into it)

Thanks all, sorry I’m being a bit thick

There’s no Input wire attached to anything so I think those sky inputs are the answer. I’ve dug around in the pile of wires and found fine hdmi cables that go into a hole in the floor which I guess may go to the two HD TVs. I’ll try and track down a box in Tesco or Argos and see if I can make it do anything.

All I want to achieve is normal tv without signing up for anything as I don’t really watch much

That 6 way splitter box is your answer for normal TV then something like this into your TV -

Wow your thumbsnap pics are NWS or even wife safe! Lol (nice though!)

In the pic of the SLX6b there is a black cable connected top right, where does that go??

That is your UHF in, if it is loose I guess it use to go to the sky box, then we need to find somewhere on the wall to connect it to.

Unfortunately not my set up it’s a rented flat I’m moving into. Cable top right from the 6 way box connects to this which I think is the issue. I need an input!

Not to worry though, I’ve been back and checked, just in case there were any that might help answer OP’s question yes

Suspect the previous occupier was using that to feed Sky around the property. 2x F connectors into the Sky box, then that one onto the RF Out from the Sky box.

Isn't there a wall socket that could plug into? Maybe put up a good picture of what outlets you have on the wall.

That’s what I thought, buying a free sat box to see if it will work

Nothing on the wall or anywhere that this can plug into. Will try the freesat box tonight, and I'll plug it into one of the HDMI cables and hope that feeds the living room tv as the connector on the other one is broken. I guess one goes into the main bedroom. There are a coupe of old TVs in different rooms but I'm not fussed about using those so I think the 6 way box may have been a red herring

The clue is that the connector is female. It goes on the RF output of a Sky+ box. The splitter / booster is compatible with magic eyes for controlling the Sky box from another room.
