Hi, I’m sure this is a basic one for many, I want to move where my Sky q feed comes into the house. I’m ok taking the connections off the wire and pulling it out the wall and then drilling a new hole further down and then pushing the cable back through the wall. It’s actually closer to the dish so I then need to cut the cable and re attach the connectors to go back into the sky q box. My question is is there a special tool to strip the cable correctly and can I re use the existing connectors or do I need new ones?
Cheers

They are just f plugs.

Take them off the cable, cut it back to where you want it, and google how to refit them. A Stanley knife, of pair of scissors will work.

Or buy new f plugs for about 10p each

Depends if the installer has used screw on F cons or crimp/compression F cons. If later you will need to replace with new screw on cons.

Have they used the skinny twin shotgun cable or standard cable?

Hi, have they used screw on ones then or not? I don’t want to take this apart and not get it back together as I’ll have no tv until I sort it and the wife and kids will kill me

No, compression, easy diy change to screw on.

That is the 'skinny' twin shotgun cable, it is commonly known as WF65, you need to get the correct screw-on F cons.

eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/WF65-Connector-Satellite-...

Plenty of youtube videos showing how to make off F cons. On Sky Q you need both connections working, if you don't get a signal than one of the connections may be bad, check you don't get any stray strands shorting out the centre pin.
