Thoughts on this LG OLED TV
Discussion
Hi all,
We currently have a 42" Panasonic plasma in our lounge. Great TV and was about £1200 6 years or so ago. However, with an 18ft distance to the TV thoughts have turned towards a bigger screen. We're looking at a 55" and have seen this LG OLED in Costco, on offer at £941. What are people's thoughts on this brand, model or alternatives? I have heard LG suffer from screen burn - is this right? Given the majority of sky channels have a fixed logo when watching them it's something I'm a little conscious of. Though with costco I would hope the warranty process would help here. Budget is basically around £1000.

Great TV, great value.
Unless you watch Sky News every day I would not worry about pixel wear too much.
Static logos are not so much an issue as ticker tape, static logos the screen will dim down to stop the red pixels wearing too fast, ticker tape it doesn't see as a logo so can't dim it, hence can cause red pixel wear.
But for most people, they are fine, can watch it no problem for years.

18ft viewing distance you could have a 65" (or bigger! Appreciate the budget limitation tho).
I have the newer version of that 55", fantastic tv. Not seen any screen burn yet and I think it's over-hyped like it was in the early days of plasma. That's not to say it won't happen but I think with general watching, and letting it do its refresh, it shouldn't be an issue.

I’m pretty sure the B9 is the latest model.I have the newer version of that 55", fantastic tv. Not seen any screen burn yet and I think it's over-hyped like it was in the early days of plasma. The C9 or E9 which you may have are classed as the same model year, but slightly higher spec.
I've had a B8 for a couple of years and it's been fine, had some weird artefacts on the screen due to direct sunlight hitting part of it at certain times of the day but they went with a pixel refresh via the service menu and have now fitted blinds.
One good thing about the screen is the wide viewing angle though if you watch films the room needs to be quite dark to do it justice.
