Anyone got any experience with the Sonos Arc - good/bad? Thanks.

I've got one, it's fantastic. Even better when used with a sub and surrounds.

Replaced a decent but fairly old 5.1 system with it, and no regrets at all. It gets used way more because it's just always on.

One thing I would say is that it's not that loud at its loudest (compared to my old system which would make your ears bleed), but you'd need an enormous room before it would be an issue.

While I don't own one, I do have a fair bit of other Sonos kit, including the smaller soundbars and have listened to the Arc a few times.

Would absolutely be top of my list if I needed something that size. My comments would be a) make sure you get it in a promo; its quite easy to find a 20% discount/ get it direct from Sonos refurbished store and b) an update is rumoured to be coming this year for the Arc.

Am I missing something here? What are you playing through it? Isn't the "loudness" determined by the volume level of the source equipment?

Another vote for the Arc being a quality bit of kit.

Mine is hooked up to a Sub and a pair of 300’s too.

I have gone down the audiophile route in the past, spent loads of money on great kit but eventually abandoned that when I put a Sonos soundbar in a second home at the time and realised I was just as happy with that.

Over the past 12 months I've replaced my two PlayBars for the Arc's and there is a marked improvement especially with the amount of Dolby Atmos material now available on many streaming sites. As Stu mentioned above, with a sub and a pair of Era 300's as surrounds it becomes very immersive. I wait for the deals to come through from Sonos (30% a couple of weeks ago from their upgrade programme) but always go to my local independent retailer to see if they can price match. He has to go to Sonos (or whoever they have to buy their Sonos stock from) and explain that I would rather support local business whenever possible and he's managed to match it each time after a few emails back and forth between him and the supplier. Plug and play, really simple to set up and the Sonos tech support if required is up there with the best I've experienced.

I opted for a Q series Samsung with wireless sub and rears mainly because the newish tv is Samsung Q so allows the TV speakers and the soundbar speakers to play together - Atmos is amazing.

The audiophiles will be along shortly to tell you that you cannot possible enjoy listening to anything by Sonos!

I've got the Arc & Sub, with 2 Play 100's

For TV - superb, very happy with it

For just music - does a decent job but no replacement for "proper" stuff imo

Thanks for all the comments. Definitely going to buy one, just can’t decide whether it is worth waiting now for the gen 2 model..

Personally I'd wait (well I'd try to) if there's no worthwhile improvement then at least the Gen 1 model will drop in price whilst stocks are available. Same as Iphones do.

I've got an Arc, Sub and 2 x play 1's and it sounds great to me. I'm sure there may be better options but for watching TV and playing spotify through the app it works really well. I like that it's just easy to use/setup.

I'm looking at Sonos as well, any recommendations on an Amp to pair? Is the Sonos Amp a good option for movies and music https://www.sonos.com/en-gb/shop/amp?

I’m not an audiophile but did flog my Sonos arc / sub which was ok for tv but not great for music, and replaced it with some decent speakers / sub / amp, which tbh is a much better set up
