Spotify served this up on one of their playlists. Just after it started, I heard something odd, and that made me start questioning lots of things on this track.

At about 5 secs in, there's a mid range regular 'thump' in the track, and at about 11 secs its' a real drop out.
Then at 40secs the base comes in. I wondered if the original aberrations were caused by clumsy editing to get use the 'with base' theme at the front , but cutting the base out?

Then at 1:20 the rhythm section appears. Is this AI generated Musak or just very poorly engineered?

I'm 80 in November so I'm getting on a bit, and younger ears may hear it differently.

I believe what you are hearing (the low thumps at the start) is the sound of him using the sustain pedal on the piano.

The piece was composed by Chopin.

Sounds legit to me.
