denon amp..HDMi in and Component out?

Ive got a denon 4306 avr amp..
I want to input my PS3 through HDMI and then output through a projector via component (because the projector is ceiling mounted and its been cabled for component in (though it does accept hdmi in).

So trying to set assign in..but I just cannot get the amp to convert the signal.
Is it impossible?

just out of interest, if I run the ps3 component cable into the amp then to the projector, will the picture quality be noticably worse than running the HDMI direct into the projector direct?
