Hi folks

I'm pleased to announce that working with the team at Dunlop TVR European Challenge (DTEC), the TVRCC club is able to offer a series of special discounts and bonus events at all of the TVR race events being held this summer! clap

These offers include...
  • Half-priced tickets!
  • Dedicated parking
  • Dedicated gazebo with refreshments
  • Guided tours of the paddock area
  • and others!
Sounds good - doesn't it! biglaugh

The first race is at Snetterton on the 30th May with others following throughout the season.

I enclose a brochure with the full details, plus the ticket lines to ring to order your advanced tickets.

Additionally, as many of these racing events are not too far from us, I'd be happy to arrange a run-in to make a great day out if people are interested.

These offers are primarily for TVRCC members only. However, non-club members who also drive TVRs are more than welcome to join us with all the same benefits, although they will have to pay the full rate - which at only £10 or so isn't going to break the bank - I hope smile

So - do we have any takers for Snetterton this month? Let me know!!

Many thanks,

Alex.

Thanks, Ceri smile

Not quite at the Stansted aerodrome, but if you are interested in joining us PM me and I'll send you the run-in route we're taking.

Hi folks

As I usually like to do a bit of a write up for events that we go to, I thought I'd post a few pics and commentary about the trip down to Snetterton to watch the DTEC racing and meet'n'greet.

All-in-all, a great day out! The drive down there from Stansted was brisk, but the sun was out and the countryside by the A11 was great. We had to spend about 20mins waiting for a couple of lorries to sort themselves out at one point, but other than that we got to the Snetterton circuit just in time for the TVR racing.

The race started at 1050 and was great fun to watch. It was supposed to last for 20mins or so, but seemed to be a lot longer actually watching it. The noise and smell from the cars as they steamed past on the track below when mixed with the sounds of the commentary was - at times - quite overpowering, but you still got a good sense of what was going on and who was chasing who.

After the race finished, a few of us went down to the TVRCC gazebo in the racing area and watched as the cars were taken off the track and their condition assessed over coffee and cake. One Tuscan had had a bit of a knock at the front and had suffered a bit of fibreglass damage, but that seemed to be it.

After wandering around the racing area for a bit and chatting with a few people - like Mal smile - we headed back to the main TVR parking lot and caught up with some folks from other regions. We met up with Kev (LaserSag), Nigel (Sagman), Warwick and a few others. Watched a bit more racing, then headed back.

A great way to spend the bank holiday I thought for £5 and quarter of a tank of petrol!

(Sorry, not a great commentary this time, but I need to head out very soon, so something is better than nothing wink )
