Please read as we need some feedback in order to make this day as memorable as possible.

The plan so far...

Sunday May 12th will see Brooklands Museum echo to the roar of TVRs. The birthplace of British Motorsport and Aviation is welcoming TVR as the star marque for one glorious day. Brooklands is situated just off junction 10 of the M25 near Weybridge. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance gate on arrival - admission is £10 on the day.

There are plenty of new exhibits to explore. Discover your inner F1 driver in the Formula One simulator, live the high life and climb aboard Concorde for a unique supersonic experience then take a step back in time inside the London Bus Museum. TVR parking is on offer within the museum via the Campbell Gate which forms part of the historic banking. There will be the opportunity to create some wonderful photographs of the TVRs given the historic backdrop.

You won’t go hungry as delicious hot and cold refreshments are available from the Sunbeam Café all day. Brooklands is also next door to Mercedes-Benz World which is certainly well worth a wander around. See you there!

HELP!!!

This year Brooklands have decided to charge each club a fee of £290 for use of the hill to cover good old health and safety costs. We need to gauge interest in this activity otherwise it will not be open to us on the day. We are proposing a small charge to drivers that want to pit their wits against the hill of around £8-£10 which gives you as many climbs as you dare. This makes for some great footage of your car in action.

If you could reply to this thread so that we can first see who is coming to Brooklands and then who is interested in using the test hill. At least by doing this we have given everyone the opportunity to get involved and have their say.

Many thanks!

I would be interested in both - Plan to arrive via TITT trip that day...plus recently discovered that mt car is an old Jag colour "Brooklands Racing Green" so it should be there.

Might possibly be interested, but I very much doubt my Sagaris would make it up the hill without ripping its front splitters off.

Really? That change in incline part-way up looked viscious when I was there last time in the Chimaera. I'd probably want to take a slow run first for my own peace of mind, but it's good to know that other Sagarisesesi (LOL) have made it up there. smile

Hi Mrs. T

I fancy attending this, so long as I can park in front of the Harrier Jump Jet (one of my all time favourites)... quite interested in the hill climb too

Regards

"Hill climb" is rather a grand word for it.

This is it:

That is *all* of it. You have to brake hard at the top to avoid ramping off the top and catching air.

I didn't coin the phrase, maybe hill ascent is a better description. Still puts the fear of God into most drivers though wink Try walking it, it's very steep!

Thanks to everyone who has put their names down so far. I will be e-mailing out the driver forms to all those interested as soon as I receive the file from Brooklands.

The plans are really taking shape for our big day after a successful meeting there yesterday. The full running order for the day will be posted soon.

Great photo!

Thanks Karen! I have no idea who took it, but that's me in my old Chimaera in the foreground and Vixpy in the blue Chimaera near the top. That was a great day (I think it was the TVR 50th Anniversary meet that you organised?)

Edit: And, yes, it is very steep. yes

Hi Jon,

I thought it was you in the wing mirror. That photo was indeed taken at the 60th anniversary meet way back in 2007 yikes

After checking my e-mail and other forums, we have 16 interested drivers for the hill so far.

Onwards and upwards!

Yup. I meant 60th. paperbag

It was a great day. So did a Sagaris go up there that day? I remember some Cerbies but I don't remember a Sagaris going up.
If mine will make it up there without grounding then I'm in, but I have my doubts having been there.
