Hi All,
I'm thinking of taking my Cerb for a blast on a track, but would prefer an airfield due to the lower risk of damage. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this? Are there any regular TVR meets on this?
Cheers
Steve

I can't comment on whether TVR meet regularly or at all there. But North Weald Airfield in Essex, maybe what you could be looking for.

I'm thinking of doing Hulavington as it is an airfield with large run offs....

Hulavington is showing a 100 db static noise limit. Which is pretty low.

I did the Bespoke Performance track day at North Weald on Good Friday. Loads of fun, no noise limit ,no helmet requirements ,just take your car ,have a blast driving

Hi Steve, check out "car limits" before you decide on North Weald. I say this because although it is an airfield , it is not a set out track like most others where you can go out all at the same time around a track. This is more of a driver training experience day where a track is set out with roadcones and you do a circuit one at a time. This maybe what you want ,but I thought I,d advise. thumbup

hi Colin,
what i want to do is take the car somewhere i can drive without the worry of driving into things, while i get to learn the car. i want to be able to drive it, and me, to the limit, and when it spins off i am safe. It gives me the chance to get to know the car without the danger of writing it off!
I'll look into the North weald further.
Cheers
Steve

Are there any track days at Thruxton? Or thereabouts? Lots of run off etc. The OP is from Hampshire.
Marham is 15 miles from me in West Norfolk - not a lot of use to a Hants lad, as its about 180 miles away.
PS, its the way to go - huge fun. I spun mine 4 times last August at Marham. You might say I found the limits. No damage other than to pride.

North Weald Activity days are great if you want to explore the limits of your car in a safe environment. No noise limits, no helmet required and only £49 for a whole days looning around.

Looks like the keevil track is out the picture as I will probably be unable to get the Cerb below 100dB. Maybe north Weald for a weekend break and a blast.

Well you could try Marham then, if you fancy the drive up from Hampshire. Only £60 a day, 20th and 21st April, but booking closes tomorrow, so extract digit. It's about 10 miles south east of Kings Lynn.

It's a live RAF base, they lay the track out, using the main runway and perimeter track, with cones. They don't bother with noise tests, as they fly Tornados the rest of the time....... And the main runway is a good place to check out your top speed. You will need to protect the nose of your car from stone chips - gaffer tape.....

There will be a number of TVRs there, including a Sagaris and a Tuscan, I am told, and several Chimaeras

You can stay at mine if you have a camp bed, it's 15 minutes from Marham. I am two weeks from completing the sale, hence no spare beds, but there will be a couple of TVR owners staying over the Sat night, and you can stay Friday too if you wish. Pubs and takeaways all walking distance in my village. Heating is on, bathroom works etc, we've just moved most of the furniture out. Secure off road parking. Free!
